Club growing confident of Manchester United deal after positive talks with player’s entourage

Roma’s recent negotiations with Jadon Sancho’s entourage have been positive as they try to sign him on loan from Manchester United.

That’s [according to Sky Italy](https://sport.sky.it/calciomercato/2025/08/16/roma-leon-bailey-calciomercato-news), who report that the Giallorossi are trying to find an agreement with the Manchester United man on his wages.

They state that recent negotiations with Sancho and his team have been positive, and it appears that there is confidence a deal can be done eventually.

Discussions with Manchester United have been centred around a loan with an obligation to buy that would be ‘easily reached’ at €23m.

The real focus is on working on Sancho’s wages, which remain the major stumbling block to any deal happening. A report this week indicated that Sancho was willing to half his current package at Old Trafford to make the move to Rome happen.

That report made it clear that Manchester United would first have to get Sancho to sign an extension to his current deal by a year before sanctioning the loan deal this season. He could then move to Roma, who are offering a package of €5-6m plus bonuses after tax.

It seems they’re positive of working that out and discussions have been positive as far as the Italians are concerned.
