Thomas Frank has managed to get off to a perfect start at N17 following Tottenham’s comprehensive win in PL opener
Tottenham manager Thomas Frank could not have asked for a better start to his managerial job at N17 after the Lilywhites beat Burnley in the opening game of the Premier League season. The North London club managed to find their feet quickly against the newly promoted team. And it is fair to say that the 3-0 result was a fair reflection on how the game went.
Thomas Frank’s men started the game on the front foot from the get-go, and it was within the ten minutes that Spurs managed to net the opener. A first-time finish from Richarlison from a Mohammed Kudus cross meant that the Lilywhites were in business for the season. But it was the second goal from the Brazilian that everyone will talk about for months to come.

Thomas Frank is pleased with how Tottenham performed in the PL opener
A statement win to kickstart a new era at N17 is just what every Tottenham fan wanted heading into the game against Burnley. The Lilywhites were solid in all areas of the pitch. And there was a clear tactical plan in place with and without the ball. The players were also in cohesion and it looked like Thomas Frank’s men were in control for majority of the game.
Now, Thomas Frank has shared what he thought about the performance against Burnley. Speaking in his post-match presser (as transcribed by Football.London), Frank said,
“Perfect start or dream start we all know we need to follow up on it. Today I will just enjoy it and I hope the players, the club and the fans enjoy it because that is important. I think overall it was a good performance, not through the roof.”
The Spurs manager added,
“A good performance against a difficult opponent. It’s never easy in the Premier League we know that and after the very short turnaround against PSG.”
Thomas Frank believes that the win against Burnley is the ‘perfect’ start to his time at N17. The Danish tactician seemed happy about the performance and hopes that the players and the fans can enjoy the magnitude of the win. The Spurs manager added that it was a tough game against the Scott Parker-led side, and the Tottenham players put in a shift despite having only a few days to rest after the PSG game.
Now it is all about carrying this momentum into the next game as Spurs look to slowly build on the Europa League success. Seeing a controlled performance like today, albeit against a weaker opposition, will encourage the Tottenham fans that the team is finally playing good football again. The club must look to aim for a strong performance again when they face Manchester City next week.
