Former Texas defensive back Andrew Mukuba was a second-round draft pick for the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2025 NFL Draft. On Saturday, he picked up not only his first NFL interception, but his first NFL pick-6.

The Eagles, the defending Super Bowl champions, played host to the Cleveland Browns. Early in the second quarter, the Browns held a 6-0 lead, but Mukuba had other plans. On the first play of the quarter, Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel rolled left and threw an ill-advised pass to Mukuba, who took it 75 yards the other way for a score.

Makuba came up big again defensively later in the quarter, recovering a fumble with just over 6 minutes to go until halftime.

The Zimbabwe-born Mukuba, born to Congolese refugees before moving to Texas at 9 years old, began his college career at Clemson. There, he earned Freshman All-American and third-team All-ACC honors after making 47 tackles and deflecting 7 passes. He totaled 143 tackles, 16 pass deflections, and an interception in 3 seasons with the Tigers.

He then transferred to Texas for the 2024 season, making 69 tackles, 4 tackles for a loss, and coming up with 5 interceptions and 7 PDs en route to a third-team All-SEC selection.
