Browns offensive tackle ruled out of Saturday’s game after ankle injury

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Browns offensive tackle Cornelius Lucas (ankle) has been ruled out the rest of today’s preseason game with Philadelphia.

Towards the end of the first half, Lucas suffered his injury. After after going through the medical tent, Lucas was then seen going to the locker room with left ankle tapes.

Some minutes afterwards, Lucas was officially ruled out for the rest of Saturday’s game.

The former 2014 draftee has appeared in double-digit games every season dating back to 2019, and was set to be an alternate tackle for Cleveland.

The offensive tackle position has been up-and-down for the Browns, primarily due to major injuries the last couple seasons.

Lucas adding to that wouldn’t help anyone, but head coach Kevin Stefanski is expected to add to how severe the injury is after the game.
