Jannik Sinner has been the man to watch this summer, riding a scorching win streak as he heads into the Cincinnati Open semifinals. Later today, he’ll face French breakout star Terence Atmane with a spot in the final and a 26th straight victory—on the line.
But before stepping onto the court for that challenge, Sinner hit the practice courts for a tune-up session. What he didn’t expect, though, was that the fans in attendance had a little surprise of their own lined up for the world No. 1, adding an extra spark to his preparations.
As Sinner wrapped up his training session, the fans in attendance gave him a moment he won’t soon forget. With today marking his 24th birthday (August 16, 2025), the crowd broke into a cheerful rendition of “Happy Birthday,” serenading the world No. 1 just hours before his semifinal clash.

It was a lighthearted surprise for the Italian, who’s been in blistering form on the court, and a reminder that even in the middle of a tense tournament run, there’s always time to celebrate.
A Closer Look at Jannik Sinner’s Most Dominant Performance So Far This Tournament
World No. 1 Jannik Sinner made short work of Felix Auger-Aliassime, rolling to a 6-0, 6-2 win to book his spot in the Cincinnati Open semifinals. Heading in, Auger-Aliassime had beaten Sinner in both of their previous meetings back in 2022, but the Italian wasted no time flipping that script. He tore through the first set in just 27 minutes, allowing his opponent only nine points as the Canadian struggled, even double-faulting twice in a row to hand it away.
Auger-Aliassime briefly found some momentum in the second set, going up 2-0 after Sinner double-faulted and looked slightly uncomfortable. But that was as far as the comeback went, with Sinner regaining control and cruising through the next six games to seal the match.
The win marked Sinner’s 25th straight victory on hard courts; he hasn’t dropped a match on the surface since losing to Carlos Alcaraz back in October 2024. Speaking afterward, he credited his returning game for setting the tone and giving him confidence on serve. His semifinal opponent is a surprise package in Terence Atmane, who shocked Holger Rune in straight sets.
