Ted’s Talk: Seahawks showcase Kubiak offense in emphatic win over Chiefs

Old-school football is back!

For preseason game number two at least, as the Seattle Seahawks ran roughshod over the Kansas City Chiefs on a rainy night at Lumen Field. Seattle won handily 33-16, but even that score doesn’t indicate the dominance displayed by the Seahawks. Despite being penalized twice as much as Kansas City, Seattle gained 321 more yards, held a 29-9 advantage in first downs, and nearly doubled the Chiefs in time of possession.

Those kinds of statistics don’t happen by accident. Seattle’s defense was expected to be good, and they held up their end of the bargain. The Seahawks offense was deadly efficient against the Chiefs, no matter who lined up behind them. Klint Kubiak’s system looked like a well oiled machine, and he seemed to have an answer for everything. There will be bumps in the road, but his offense looks so much more professional than what was in place last year, it’s mind boggling. I can’t wait to see it in action when the regular season starts.

Two preseason games are in the books, and the Seahawks are looking good. The final preseason contest against the Green Bay Packers will be a showcase for backups to make their final statement in their quest to make an NFL roster whether in Seattle or elsewhere. It’s a dream come true for Seahawks sickos like you and me!
