James McAtee’s permanent move to Nottingham Forest ends his 11-year association with City.
The Salford-born attacking midfielder initially joined City at Under-11 level and has progressed all the way through the ranks to last season being a regular member of Pep Guardiola’s squad.
During that time, he’s played a pivotal role in our 2020 FA Youth Cup success and enjoyed two fruitful loan spells with Sheffield United.
McATEE SIGNS FOR NOTTINGHAM FOREST
In 2024/25 alone, he played 27 times for the Blues and netted seven goals.
The standout performance was the hat-trick against Salford City in the FA Cup, although he also managed strikes against Ipswich, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Slovan Bratislava.
As James leaves City, we pay tribute to one of our own.
