The Blues kicked off the new Premier League campaign with a superb performance at Molineux with Erling Haaland scoring twice and fellow new arrival Rayan Cherki also on target.

After Haaland scored the first goal of the season in the Premier League for a fourth successive year, Reijnders doubled our lead with a precise left-foot finish.

And the Netherlands international was delighted to celebrate with the travelling City fans at Molineux.

“Yeah that felt amazing,” he told Matchday Live’s FG. “And I’m happy with the win and that I could help the team with a goal and an assist.

“I was a bit surprised that there were so many places close to the pitch for our away fans.

“That was a great feeling scoring my goal and celebrating with the fans of course.”

Reijnders also had a big impact in City’s third goal, brilliantly controlling a pass from debutant ‘keeper James Trafford.

After exchanging passes with Oscar Bobb, he laid the ball into the path of Haaland and had no doubts he would hit the back of the net.

“Yeah that was really nice,” he added. “I know Erling is always sharp to be in the box.

“With his second goal as well, I knew he was there. When he hit the ball, I knew it was a goal.”
