Joan Garcia made his La Liga debut for Barcelona against Real Mallorca on Saturday but suffered a scare in the warm-up as he seemed to have picked up an injury.
The goalkeeper returned to the dressing room and had some strapping on his hand but did go on to play and keep a clean sheet as Barca ran out 3-0 winners.
Garcia was asked about the injury afterwards and played down fears he had picked up any kind of problem.
”The finger issue was a scare during the warm-up, nothing serious,” he told Movistar.
The summer signing also spoke about the game and how he was happy to take home all three points.
“The Barça goalkeeper has to be attentive to many things; obviously, with two players missing, they don’t have as much access. I’m very happy.
”It was strange. It’s not normal for a team to be two down in the first half. We would have liked to have scored a goal earlier, but anyway, we took the win. I am feeling very comfortable with Hansi Flick. I need to keep improving, but I am very happy.”
Garcia was asked asked about the second red card incident which saw Vedat Muriqi dismissed for a dangerous challenge on the stopper: “I haven’t seen it repeated, but it’s right in my face. If VAR says it was a red card, I assume that’s what it was.”
