Pep Guardiola was happy to pick up all three points following an opening day 4-0 win at Wolves but says there’s room for improvement.
Erling Haaland scored two while Premier League debutants Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki also found the net as City scorched to victory at Molineux.
Despite contentment at the result, boss Guardiola saw things in the second half he would like to work on as the season progresses.
“We didn’t have the ball, we struggled to build up and our pressing was a little bit flat but it happens,” the manager said on the team’s performance after the break.
MATCH REPORT | WOLVES 0-4 CITY
“It is completely normal, 90 minutes away at a team that is dynamic and physically strong.
“Many players played really well. Half-time, come back, 0-2 and we were lucky that after four minutes there was an injury for Wolves and we controlled the tempo a little bit.
“Before the third goal for Erling they had a clear chance.
“When you are away in the Premier League and you concede one goal you start to tremble. I liked it, but there are many things we have to do better.
“Last season we were back when we won 2-0 at Chelsea and look what happened afterwards.
“We won today. If you tell me we were back in the second half, I’d say no.”
