Arsenal make huge decision on Max Dowman ahead of Man Utd game

Arsenal youngster Max Dowman has travelled with the squad for the Premier League opener against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Gunners start their league campaign against the Red Devils on the road and ahead of the game, the first-team group have travelled via train.

An Arsenal fan spotted the team at the station. Dowman was one of those present in the video.

Dowman has been a revelation within the Gunners’ youth system. He showed a glimpse of his immense talent during the club’s pre-season campaign.

The 15-year-old had a superb cameo versus Newcastle United. He induced two splendid saves and also won a penalty with a brilliant direct run into the box.

Dowman went on to feature against Tottenham Hotspur and Villarreal. In the latter of those friendlies, he won another penalty for Arsenal with his trickery.

The youngster was absent for the Emirates Cup against Athletic Club due to some ‘belated time off‘, having played for the England Under 17s in June.

He was back in team training this week, and we are not surprised that he has travelled with the team. Dowman looks poised to make the matchday squad at Old Trafford.

Leandro Trossard was also with the squad after a brief absence with a groin injury which kept him out of the friendlies against Villarreal and Athletic at the Emirates Stadium.

The Belgian was spotted training earlier this week and should be in the squad to face United too.

Arsenal are unbeaten in the last five league meetings against United (four wins). They are also unbeaten in 21 straight league encounters against the ‘Big Six’ which is some record.

Still, the Gunners can’t be complacent at Old Trafford. United are not an easy opposition to face with home advantage, and Arsenal must be at their best to secure three points.
