Manchester United have not acted upon their previous interest in Spouthampton star Tyler Dibling
The pain of last season is still fresh with all Manchester United fans. The team finished 15th in the Premier League in 2024/25 and lost to Tottenham in the Europa League final. Despite Ruben Amorim taking over as coach mid-season, we are out of European competition next season. However, this summer, the club have rekindled their spirit, with big names like Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo stepping up in the Red Devils’ jersey. Young Diogo Leon has also joined the team. Most importantly, the arrival of Benjamin Sesko will give new strength to our attacking department, after the failure of Rasmus Hojlund last season. These signings are our ray of hope for the upcoming season.
On August 17, Manchester United will begin their Premier League campaign at home against Arsenal. This match is a chance for Ruben Amorim to get his team back on track. With the presence of Cunha and Mbeumo, our attack looks more dangerous than last season, on paper. On the other hand, there is still a buzz in the transfer market. Talks are rife for Southampton’s Tyler Dibling, and we have been linked to the player earlier in the window. According to Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke, Southampton have reduced the 19-year-old winger’s price tag. Will United capitalise on this opportunity? It will be interesting to see.

Southampton’s young star, Tyler Dibling, has caught everyone’s attention with his latest performances. At the age of 19, he shines with his pace, ability to take on defenders and dribbling skills. Pete O’Rourke revealed that the hefty price of £100 million earlier deterred bigger clubs. Now, Southampton have reduced that price. So, clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea should be back in the race. Everton’s latest bid were rejected, as Southampton’s asking price are still high. The Englishman’s future is still uncertain with his club’s relegation from the Premier League, but his talent is undeniable. For United, the 19-year-old could be a long-term investment; we should keep an eye on his future.

Southampton’s Tyler Dibling, a dazzling young talent, sparks transfer buzz as Manchester United and Chelsea eye a cut-price deal for the versatile starlet.
“It’s been surprising. When Dibling first broke into the Southampton team, there were a lot of links with a lot of the big clubs. Chelsea, Man United and a number of top European teams were interested in a move for Tyler Dibling; there was talk of that outrageous £100m price tag. Obviously, that has come down since then, but I’m surprised there haven’t been more offers.:
“It’s the valuation Southampton have put on him which is putting clubs off. Everton have made a couple of offers which have been rejected, and they aren’t willing to go to what Southampton are demanding for Dibling.”
Is Dibling right for United?
Dibling could have been a great fit in Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 tactics. His pace and versatility would make him useful as a wing-back or an attacking midfielder. In Amorim’s pressing style, Dibling’s stamina, work ethic and ball control would have been a weapon for us. However, we really don’t think that the club will be making a move for the Southampton star in this window. Given his talent, he would have definitely liked to play for a big club in the Premier League, and make no mistake, Dibling could have been an asset for us in the long term.
However, with the signings that we have made this summer, and the money that we have spent, our club do not have the funds to finance this signing. We are yet to finalise the sales of Sancho, Antony and Garnacho. With Garnacho’s reported departure, the Southampton youngster could have been one of the same profiles like the Argentine, although not on the same side of the pitch, but then again, we don’t have funds of that quantity, and although Dibling could have been a great signing, we simply won’t be able to pull this off in this window.
