Wolves should move for Nottingham Forest player they wanted in 2024 after new development -…

A player Wolves were interested in before he went to Nottingham Forest could be a smart move as incoming attackers threaten his current gametime prospects.

Vitor Pereira wants more players. And so does everyone who follows Wolves.

Jhon Arias and Fer Lopez have looked like decent additions from the glimpses we saw in pre-season, but there is still a need for further reinforcement in attack.

Not only is this Forest player open to considering a move away, but the arrival of Omari Hutchinson hurts his chances of getting more minutes under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Former Wolves target Jota Silva may be surplus to requirements at Nottingham Forest with Omari Hutchinson arrival

Jota Silva moved to Forest last summer after putting up 16 goal involvements for Vitoria in his final season in the Primeira Liga.

At that time, HITC reported interest in Silva from Wolves as they tried to prepare for Pedro Neto’s imminent departure. Silva would make 31 appearances for Nuno’s side last season, but just five in the starting XI.

Now, Forest are bringing in Omari Hutchinson, having already signed James McAtee earlier this week.

🚨🌳 Official, confirmed. Omari Hutchinson joins Nottingham Forest on deal in excess £37m from Ipswich Town.

Forest seem to be sending a message to Silva that he’ll not be stepping into a major role, and the 26-year-old has already shown interest in a move back to Portugal, according to A Bola. It’s not inconceivable that Silva could be convinced to stay in England and work under another Portuguese manager at Wolves.

How much Wolves would have to pay for Jota Silva and what he offers

Forest have already been approached by Sporting with an £8.6 million loan-to-buy offer, but the English side want closer to £13 million in such a scenario.

This is well within Wolves’ capabilities financially, and it would be an opportunistic move for a player who has looked great when called upon.

Despite making 37 appearances for Forest, Silva has been used mostly as an impact sub, with his minutes played amounting to about 13 full 90s. In that time, he has scored three and assisted two goals, and put up tackles, interceptions and clearances per 90 that put him in the top 1% of wingers in Europe’s top five leagues.

Of course these are inflated numbers, but Silva has shown tenacity and aggression that could liven up Wolves’ front line. This is a move that makes sense, and Silva could be the latest Portuguese star to emerge at Molineux.

Make it happen, Fosun.
