Leeds United return to Premier League action tomorrow as they take on Everton at Elland Road (8pm kick-off).
After what has been a pretty busy summer, the game could see a number of players make their debuts for the club. The Whites have completed the signing of eight new players so far, with striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin able to face his former club.
Despite the season starting, clubs still have a few weeks to complete their transfer dealings both incoming and outgoings. The deadline is at 7pm on September 1.
Leeds contine to be linked with possible transfers. With that in mind, here is a look at a couple of the latest transfer stories doing the rounds, with our own opinion on the situation added.
El Khannouss decision
Leicester City manager Marti Cifuentes has explained the reason he substituted Leeds United transfer target Bilal El Khannouss at half time in the club’s 2-1 defeat to Preston North End. El Khannouss started the game, but with the Foxes 1-0 down, he was replaced by striker Patson Daka at the break.
Speaking after the game, via LeicestershireLive , Cifuentes gave an honest explanation as to why the change was made.
“I wasn’t very happy with Bilal’s performance,” he said. “With players of this quality, I always expect a lot.
“I was not happy with the whole performance in the first half, about the whole team, so it’s not just about Bilal. But usually I’m more demanding with the best players and Bilal is a fantastic player."
Asked if he had explained this to El Khannouss, Cifuentes replied: “He knows very well.”
LeedsLive says : El Khannouss was impressive in the first game of the season, as he provided two assists for both of Leicester’s goals in a 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday. That performance may mean that he probably going to be targeted more by opposition teams. Against Preston he struggled to get on the ball in the first 45 minutes before being taken off.
The fact that his manager holds him to account over his performance could be seen as a positive. It will now be interesting to see how he responds to the criticism.

Sky Sports deal
Deal could collapse
A deal for Leeds United full-back Isaac Schmidt to go to German side Werder Bremen could collapse with the Bundesliga reportedly looking at alternative options. Kicker report that Bermen have been waiting for the ‘green light’ from Leeds, but it is yet to come.
It is said that the club are now instead looking at Eintracht Frankfurt’s Elias Baum. Frankfurt are said to be open to a loan deal.
LeedsLive says : Schmidt is one of the players who could leave before the end of the summer, especially if Leeds bring a replacement in. The Whites are in talks with Leicester over a deal for versatile full-back James Justin, however a potential deal could be in doubt with the player picking up an injury in the weekend’s game when playing for Leicester.
