Nottingham Forest are believed to be in the final stages of negotiations over a permanent transfer for Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz.
Luiz showed his Premier League potential at Aston Villa before Villa's financial balancing act forced a move to Italy last summer. Now the 27-year-old Brazil international is on his way back to England as Nuno Espirito Santo prepares his squad for a shot at the Europa League. Suggested fees have been around the €35 million mark.
Santo has already got deals for Omari Hutchinson and James McAtee over the line on Saturday and is also hot in pursuit of Rennes striker Arnaud Kalimuendo.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano writes: "Nottingham Forest are close to getting Douglas Luiz deal done!
"After personal terms agreed as said (on Friday), deal imminent also with Juve as (Forest) are confident. He’s the next one after Kalimuendo and Hutchinson as negotiations are at final stages with Juventus."
Forest have been linked with Manchester City's Rico Lewis, Southampton’s Mateus Fernandes, who is being linked with West Ham, Strasbourg winger Dilane Bakwa and AC Milan striker Yunus Musah.
