Como midfielder Nico Paz talked after his team’s opening game of the 2025-26 Serie A season and shared his thoughts about a potential Real Madrid return.
“You never know what the future holds. I’m focused on Como, which is where I belong. I am very happy and excited. I have no idea what the future holds for me, I don’t even know what I’ll do tomorrow,” he said when asked about whether or not he will play for Real Madrid in the future.
Real Madrid had a €8 million option to sign Paz back from Como this summer but ultimately decided not to trigger it, despite some rumors suggesting that the club was going to have the midfielder on its roster next season. Los Blancos will have another option to sign Paz back next summer —this time a €9 million one— and it looks like they will take advantage of that opportunity, assuming Paz keeps showing his quality and potential this season.
