Former Real Madrid academy gem leaves the door open for future return

Having left Real Madrid last summer, Nico Paz has thrived in Italy with Como 1907, becoming one of the most exciting young talents on display in Serie A.

So much so that, Los Blancos considered re-signing the Argentine international this summer by exercising their €8 million buyback clause, before deciding against it.

Real Madrid, though, still have buyback options for their academy gem for the next two summers as well, and young Nico has hopes that a move might materialise in the future.

Indeed, in a recent interview, Nico did not rule out returning to Real Madrid one day while expressing his happiness at his current club.

“You never know. I’m focused on Como , which is where I belong. I’m very happy and excited. I have no idea what the future holds, I don’t even know what I’ll do tomorrow,” said the Argentine playmaker.

Nico stated that he is currently enjoying his time in Italy and values positively the project he is part of under Cesc Fabregas.

“We’re building a good team, with a good coaching staff, and in a beautiful city and setting. I couldn’t ask for more right now,” he remarked.

Finally, he recalled the two happiest moments of his career so far, with one of them being his first senior goal for Real Madrid.

“I would say my goal in the Champions League with Real Madrid against Napoli… It was an incredible moment, something I’d dreamed of since I arrived at the club,” said Nico.

Continuing, he added: “And then my debut with the Argentine national team . Not just because of my debut, but also because of Messi , his hat trick, the assist I gave him… He’s a very kind person. I couldn’t sleep that night.”
