Crystal Palace yet to make a decision on Eze’s involvement in game against Chelsea
Tottenham Hotspur are looking to bring in more offensive reinforcements to their team as the 2025 summer transfer window approaches its last few days.
Spurs have already incorporated some big names, including Joao Palhinha and Mohammed Kudus, to their team this summer, but they are still looking to further strengthen their attack before the transfer window closes.
The North London side has been linked closely with two prominent Premier League players for this purpose. One of them is the Manchester City winger Savinho, while the other is the Crystal Palace forward Eberechi Eze.
The last few days have seen Tottenham take the lead for Eze’s signing, although Arsenal were previously enjoying a strong position in his pursuit. However, negotiations are still going on between Spurs and Palace, and a recent report suggested that these negotiations are not going too smoothly.
In such a context, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the midfielder. As per a report from the Italian journalist, it is not yet clear whether Eze would be a part of the squad for the Premier League game between Crystal Palace and Chelsea tonight. Oliver Glasner, the Palace head-coach, will make a final decision in this regard today.
Talks advancing with Tottenham for Eberechi Eze
However, Romano goes on to claim that talks are advancing between the two clubs, and Tottenham already have an agreement with the player, who has also let his current club know of his desire to play for Spurs.
Eze had been a key part of the Crystal Palace squad that won the FA Cup last season, and Glasner would definitely not want to miss such an important player for the opening tie against a side as good as Chelsea.
On the other hand, Tottenham, who made a winning start to their 2025-26 Premier League campaign with a 3-0 win over Burnley, would be keen to finish off this operation quickly and successfully. There is no doubt that his arrival would significantly strengthen Spurs’ attack, and hopefully, this operation will be concluded soon.
