PITTSBURGH --Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell ended his hold-in for a new contract on Saturday. During the team’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Boswell was surprisingly in uniform.
Boswell, who has two years left on his current contract, is the 11th highest paid kicker in the NFL after being the first-team All-Pro selection last season.
The star kicker did not kick any field goals, but took care of all Steelers kickoffs on Saturday. It is the first time that Boswell has participated in a team activity throughout the process, though he often rests throughout the summer.
Now, Boswell is starting to slowly work his way back into fold. It is unknown if he decided to end it or if the Steelers and his representation have inched closer to a resolution on his wants.
Boswell has been the Steelers’ kicker since 2015 and was 41 of 44 last season, continuing to be the bastion of consistency for the Steelers.
Boswell was also named to the second Pro Bowl of his career. His 41 field goal makes are the most in Steelers franchise history, beating his own previous record of 36 that he set back in the 2017 season. He was a perfect 35 of 35 on extra point attempts as well.
