Wolves' first Premier League game of the season yesterday (August 16) was preceded by an emotional and heartfelt series of tributes to the former Wolves forward, who died alongside his brother Andre Silva in a car crash in Spain in July.
A video message was played before a minute's applause was observed as a sold-out Molineux paid tribute to Jota, who played for Wolves between 2017 and 2020, winning the Championship and helping take the club to the FA Cup semi-finals and Europa League quarter-finals, as well as two successive seventh-place finishes in the Premier League.
