CHARLOTTE — A look inside the numbers and snap counts from Saturday's 20-3 loss to the Houston Texans.
Bryce Young played only seven snaps before the first team offense was done for the day. It's the fewest amount he's played in a game.
Running back Trevor Etienne had the most carries on the day, with seven total. It was Kayron Lynch-Adams who picked up the most yards though, finishing with 27 yards on five carries.
Tremayne had a long of 23 yards, which was also the longest pass play of the day for the Panthers.
Safety Demani Richardson and linebacker Jacoby Windmon tied for the most tackles on defense, each with six total. Richardson had five solo tackles. Of Windom's six tackles, five were in the run game, the most of any Panthers' defender.
Corner Corey Thornton was tied with Shemar Bartholomew for most targets in the passing game, each seeing five balls. Thornton and Akayleb Evans allowed the lowest catch percentage of any defensive backs who saw two or more targets. Evans allowed no catches on two targets. Thornton allowed two catches on five targets, a 40% catch rate.
Derrick Brown played only three snaps, the fewest of any defensive player, but it was the first time he's played snaps in a game since Week 1 of the 2024 season when he suffered a meniscus tear.
Take a look at the snap counts and playtime percentage for the Panthers in Week 2 of the preseason against the Texans.

Thank goodness the roof was closed yesterday, because the big guys played a lot of snaps, after playing a lot of snaps in the heat on Thursday. Brady Christensen was out there for 41 snaps, more than any other offensive player, followed by Yosh Nijman, Brandon Walton, Jarrett Kingston, and Ja'Tyre Carter. With backups playing effectively the final three quarters, there was a lot of work to go around.
While the starters played limited snaps, they kept some of the receivers out there with the reserves to get them some more work. While Bryce Young only played seven snaps and Andy Dalton had six, they took longer looks at Xavier Legette (12) and Tetairoa McMillan (11), along with David Moore (27) and Hunter Renfrow (24).

Special teams figures to be the area of the roster that could change the most in the next two weeks, but there are a number of guys who could figure heavily into coordinator Tracy Smith's plans. Thomas Incoom getting 12 snaps, along with Jacoby Windmon and Jon Rhattigan, is a signal they're among the guys Smith trusts out of this group.
