Southampton make fresh Tyler Dibling decision days after sending counter-offer to Everton

Everton have been chasing Southampton’s Tyler Dibling for most of August.

The Toffees have had three bids rejected for Dibling, with their latest believed to be in the region of £43m.

Saints initially demanded £50m to sanction Dibling’s sale, however, after Moyes and his chiefs threatened to walk away, they’ve revised that asking price.

Everton received a counter-offer for Dibling earlier this week, and it’s understood that it can be accepted at any point in the remaining couple of weeks of the window.

However, a fresh decision by the South Coasters has just sent a clear message out.

Southampton bring Everton target Tyler Dibling back into squad vs Ipswich Town

Dibling has informed Southampton of his desire to leave for Everton, which saw him excluded from their squad in the Championship opener against Wrexham.

However, manager Will Still has now decided to name him on the substitutes bench against Ipswich Town today.

It clearly shows nothing is advanced with Everton at the moment, and Still is willing to reintegrate him into the squad.

The 19-year-old was spotted training with the main group earlier this week, having been working on his own for a period.

Will Still lifts lid on Tyler Dibling’s future

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the Ipswich Town game, Still admitted that there is a way back for Dibling despite telling the club he wants to join Everton.

“He’s still a Southampton player, and he hasn’t gone anywhere,” the 32-year-old said.

“I know there’s been a lot of noise, there’s a lot of noise about a few players. We can’t control that as such, it’s just part and parcel of what the transfer window is, so we’ll have to wait and see.

“Having honest conversations, I think he was pretty honest in the past few weeks. It’s not the easiest thing for him, he’s still very young, he’s still trying to understand how it all works.

“I’ll be honest with everyone and hope they are back. Everyone has been. There was some stuff about Matty [Fernandes] and Matty’s come back and done really well. I’m sure Tyler will be exactly the same.”
