Giannis Antetokounmpo went viral for smacking teammate Giannoulis Larentzakis' head during Greece's pregame huddle, sparking playful banter from Evan Fournier on social media.
Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo drew attention before Greece's friendly game against Montenegro when he was seen smacking his teammate Giannoulis Larentzakis on the head during a team huddle.
Although Giannis didn't suit up for Thursday's game, he joined his teammates in the pregame circle and delivered a hard slap to Larentzakis' head.
The moment quickly went viral on social media, with some fans taking it as playful banter and others speculating it was a reaction to something said in the huddle.
Former NBA guard Evan Fournier, now Larentzakis' teammate at Olympiacos Piraeus, couldn't resist making fun of the situation.
"If you don't listen to everything I say next season, this is what's gonna happen," Fournier tweeted, tagging Larentzakis on X.
So far, Greece has won two of its four exhibition games ahead of FIBA EuroBasket 2025. Giannis has missed all of them but is expected to play in the next matchup against Latvia on August 20.
