Notthingham Forest step up their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur-linked Rico Lewis
Despite the departure of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and the problems being faced by Yves Bissouma, Thomas Frank still has several very exciting options for the pivot position in his Tottenham Hotspur squad.
Joao Palhinha was one of the most high-profile additions to the Spurs team this summer, while in the opening Premier League match against Burnley, Frank decided to field the youngster Archie Gray as the single pivot. The youngster put in a simple but good display. Similarly, other players like Lucas Bergvall can also play as the team’s defensive midfielder.
Still, Tottenham continue to be linked with new players for this position, and one player that they are being associated with at this point in time is the Manchester City talent Rico Lewis. In addition to Spurs, other big clubs like Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Aston Villa have also made inquiries about the midfielder.
To make things further complicated, a report from CaughtOffside claims that another Premier League side, Notthingham Forest, have also stepped up their efforts to sign the Englishman.

Forest have already seen one of their offers rejected
In fact, Forest have already made an offer of €25 million fixed and another €5 million in bonuses for the player. However, Manchester City were quite quick to reject this offer as they want to retain one of the most promising players to come out of their academy.
Notthingham Forest have not given up on the midfielder, and are still negotiating, with both the player and Manchester City. Furthermore, Chelsea are also quite serious about their interest in the 20-year-old player.
As already mentioned, Tottenham already have several options to play as their defensive midfielder, and do not need Lewis as a priority. However, there is also no doubt that the City youngster is one of the most promising talents playing in the Premier League, and would be a good addition to the Spurs team.
In addition to the defensive midfield, Lewis can also play as a fullback and this versatility makes him an even more attractive target for interested clubs. But for now, it remains to be seen how his future unfolds and where he will be playing at the end of this summer transfer window.
