Roma are reportedly closing in on an agreement with Aston Villa over a deal for Leon Bailey.
The Jamaica international arrived at Villa Park in 2021 off the back of scoring 39 times in 156 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen, and he had allegedly also been on Manchester United's radar at the time.
Bailey has represented Villa on 144 occasions, scoring 22 goals and registering 24 assists, but there has been a host of speculation surrounding his future during this summer's transfer window.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Roma are now nearing a move for the versatile attacker.
Roma claims that a positive meeting took place between Bailey's agents and intermediaries on Saturday evening, and the expectation is now that the 28-year-old will join the Italian club.
The Serie A team will allegedly sign him on an initial loan deal, but there will be the option to sign him on a permanent basis next year for a fee in the region of €23m (£19.8m).
