Leeds United face Everton at Elland Road in the opening fixture of their Premier League campaign on Monday.

The Whites have been busy so far in the transfer window, making seven additions, but their game against Everton will be the first opportunity to assess just how shrewd the 49ers’ business dealings have been over the summer.

Leeds ended their pre-season with a 1-1 draw against AC Milan in Dublin, in a game that proved once again just how great the support is overseas for United.

However, it’s back to West Yorkshire now for Leeds and their supporters, who turn their attention to attempting to avoid immediate relegation from the top-flight.

Before the game, MOT Leeds News has highlighted everything you need to know.

Clear skies expected for opening day clash

With Lucas Perri and Gabriel Gudmundsson expected to make their debuts, those in the stands will be eagerly watching in the hope that they adapt to life under Daniel Farke.

According to the Met Office, on 17 August, it is set to be a warm evening with the temperature ranging from 18-16 degrees throughout the 8pm kick-off.

There is a less than five per cent chance of precipitation throughout Monday, and the evening where the game takes place is no different.

The humidity at kick-off is set to be 69 per cent when the game begins, before rising to 76 per cent by 10pm.

Tickets sold out for game against Everton

Unsurprisingly, tickets are sold out for the match against David Moyes’ side, who could face some familiar faces in Jack Harrison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The Leeds faithful are known for their excellent support, and the proposed stadium expansion to Elland Road can’t come soon enough for those unfortunate enough to miss out on watching their team play.

All of the Whites’ hospitality packages, which can cost as much as £690, for the clash against Everton are also sold out, but luckily for those who cannot make it to the ground, the game is broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Travel guide for Elland Road

The matchday special shuttle service will be in operation for those looking to get to Elland Road via public transport.

Service R2 operates on most home match days from Sovereign Street in Leeds to Elland Road from 90 minutes before the match starts, whilst service R3 goes from Thornbury Barracks and Pudsey Bus Station to Elland Road 90 minutes before as well.

Car parks are also available nearby and cost £12 per car, but note this is payable with cash only.

In terms of road closures, Elland Road is closed 15 minutes before the final whistle, and remains closed for at least an hour after.

Lowfields Road is also closed post-match for vehicles. No vehicles will be allowed to move until fans have left this area.

This could delay you anywhere from half an hour to an hour following the match.
