Evangelos Marinakis has been a highly talked-about figure in pre-season, leading to Nottingham Forest fans creating a unique new chant for him during the Brentford game.
Starting with Tottenham’s approach for Morgan Gibbs-White, Marinakis disputed the North London club’s approach for his star man, becoming an unpopular figure in Spurs fans’ eyes.
However, it all paid off for Forest as Gibbs-White signed a new contract, reportedly after a lengthy conversation with the Reds’ owner about the ambitions of the club.
He’s not popular with Crystal Palace fans either after Forest claimed a Europa League spot, at the expense of The Eagles, after their multi-club ownership rule breach. To reflect on this, Reds fans have a new chant for their owner.

Nottingham Forest fans’ new chant for Evangelos Marinakis
Marinakis was in attendance for the Brentford game as new signings Omari Hutchinson and James McAtee were unveiled at the City Ground.
He was certainly entertained as his Reds raced into a three-goal lead at half-time. Before the goals, though, Forest fans were busy serenading their owner with a new chant.
Tottenham and Palace fans won’t have enjoyed it, but the hilarious references to the action-packed off-season show just how significant a character Marinakis has become.

His work isn’t done for the summer, though, with a number of additions still to come that have helped the Greek businessman set an ambitious goal for Nuno Espírito Santo this season.

Arnaud Kalimuendo is close to signing for Forest having travelled to London for his medical, while Douglas Luiz is also edging closer to finally signing for the Reds.
With these signings, a report from the Daily Mail made it clear how the owner feels about the upcoming campaign.
The report said: “The Forest owner envisages an improvement this season which, logically, can mean only one thing: Champions League qualification.
“That will not be easy, but then Marinakis is a demanding owner. He looks at the squad today, compares it with the roster from last season and sees a clear uplift in quality. It then falls to the players and coach to make it count.”
