Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund will reportedly not be in the squad for Sunday's game against Arsenal, with the club 'sending a message' over his future at Old Trafford.
Hojlund has expressed a desire to stay with the Red Devils and fight for his spot in the side, even with Benjamin Sesko arriving from RB Leipzig as the club's new starting centre-forward.
However, the Denmark international was an unused substitute in the team's final pre-season friendly of the summer against Fiorentina last weekend, and according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, he will not be in the squad against Arsenal.
Romano claims that it is "definitely over" for the 22-year-old at Old Trafford.
"Rasmus Hojlund and Manchester United, it’s definitely over. Hojlund won’t be part of Man United squad against Arsenal as club sends clear message pushing for his exit. United open to permanent and also loan deal, Hojlund will assess his options," read a post on X from the transfer expert on Sunday afternoon.

Hojlund 'left out' of Man United squad against Arsenal
Hojlund made the move to Old Trafford from Atalanta BC in the summer of 2023, and he impressed during his first season at Old Trafford, scoring 16 times in all competitions.
The striker found the back of the net on 10 occasions last term, but just four of those strikes were in the Premier League, and he consistently struggled to perform for the Red Devils.
Man United have signed Sesko in a big-money deal this summer, while Joshua Zirkzee and Chido Obi are also options when it comes to the centre-forward spot during the 2025-26 campaign.
"He's one more option. We will see. We are focused on this game and Rasmus is still our player," said head coach Ruben Amorim when asked about the Dane during his press conference on Friday afternoon.

AC Milan 'lead the race' for Hojlund but Fulham 'also keen'
AC Milan have been in negotiations with Man United over a potential deal for Hojlund, and the Italian giants are at the head of the queue for the Dane, who is said to be open to a switch to Serie A.
However, Fulham are also thought to be interested, with Marco Silva's side ready to make a move if the forward signals that he would be interested in joining the Premier League club.
Hojlund has scored 26 goals in 95 appearances for Man United, and it is thought that he could move to Milan on loan, with the deal then potentially becoming permanent during next summer's transfer window.
