Chelsea remain interested in Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho – and the Stamford Bridge faithful are all making the same point after watching the Blues open their 2025/26 Premier League campaign with a 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace.
Enzo Maresca has spent well in the summer transfer window, bringing in the likes of Joao Pedro, Liam Delap and Jorrel Hato. That includes Jamie Gittens, who made his competitive Chelsea debut, inside a sun-soaked Stamford Bridge, against Palace.
All manner of additions, however, were not enough for the reigning Club World Cup winners to walk away from their stomping ground with any more than one point – and the club’s fanbase are imploring Maresca and Co to add Garnacho to their ranks.
Why Garnacho’s Move to Chelsea Makes Sense

Ousted by Ruben Amorim – widely regarded as one of the best young managers in world football – and his entourage at Manchester United, Garnacho is looking for a move elsewhere before the summer ends, and Chelsea is his priority.
The Argentine is of the age profile that Todd Boehly and the west London boardroom bosses have been targeting over the years, while he also brings a wealth of Premier League experience. That’s despite, at the time of writing, being 21 years of age.
Born and raised in Madrid, Garnacho has often been a bright spark in some dim days at Old Trafford. Capped eight times by Argentina, he’s plundered 26 goals and 22 assists in 144 matches for Manchester United’s senior side – and would, therefore, add further potency to Chelsea’s frontline.

That said, however, GIVEMESPORT sources have recently revealed that there is an ever-growing feeling among the Old Trafford higher-ups that Garnacho will remain at the club beyond the summer transfer window, which ends on 1 September.
He’d certainly be an upgrade on Gittens, who reportedly earns £90,000-per-week in west London, but whether a deal can be struck remains to be seen. As mentioned, Chelsea are Garnacho’s preferred destination if he is to find a new club this summer.
Chelsea Fans on Garnacho and Gittens

Taking to X after Gittens was replaced by Estevao in the 54th minute of their season curtain-raiser, one fan has implored Maresca to sign Garnacho given that Gittens looks very raw: “Get me Garnacho ASAP. This Gittens can’t be my starting LW.”
Gittens, who was signed from Borussia Dortmund for a fee of £48.5 million with a potential of £3 million in add-ons, enjoyed 28 touches of the ball – three of which were in Palace’s box – while just two of his attempted five dribbles (40%) were a success.
As a result, Chelsea fans are keen to have Garnacho on board as Estevao’s introduction added much-needed energy. They wrote: “Took Estevao only 5 mins to complete more take-ons than Neto and Gittens combined. We need to bring Garnacho in ASAP.”
“Oh yeah, best believe Garnacho will be starting a LOT of games when he joins. Gittens looks extremely, extremely raw,” another said as a fourth supporter added: "To be honest, Garnacho is better than Gittens. Gittens needs more time to adapt.”
