Toti Gomes reveals what Vitor Pereira told Wolves squad after Manchester City defeat 'he…

Losing a game 4-0, you will probably expect the manager to rip into his side in his post-game talk, and Toti Gomes has now revealed what Vitor Pereira told the Wolves players.

It was a difficult afternoon for the squad, who thought they had taken the lead early through Marshall Munetsi, only for the goal to be correctly judged offside.

Also, Jose Sa had a match to forget, and Emmanuel Agbadou was at fault for Manchester City’s second goal, leading to Wolves ultimately being on the wrong side of four goals.

However, despite the obvious disappointments, Vitor Pereira had an upbeat message for his Wolves players according to Toti Gomes.

Vitor Pereira told Wolves squad to take attitude from Manchester City game into next match

Typically after a loss, a manager wouldn’t be best pleased with his team, never mind when they lose 4-0. However, Vitor Pereira has taken another approach.

According to new club captain Toti Gomes, the Wolves boss told them to “take the good things” from the game and carry them into the next match.

Speaking to wolves.co.uk, Gomes said this of Pereira’s post-match talk: “He said positive things. Of course, after a tough defeat, sometimes it’s hard to speak. He took the good things from this game, because everybody was fighting for a good result, and we need to go with this type of attitude for the next game.”

Playing Manchester City is tough for any side, and Pereira is right that Wolves certainly did give it a go. They created chances and in the first half managed to maintain a period of dominance.

However, Wolves still need to add more players in order to avoid falling into a relegation battle this season, but there were some positive signs in the match.

The positives from Wolves’ defeat to Manchester City

You might be hard-pressed to find any glimmer of light from a heavy defeat, but there were a couple against Manchester City.

The midfield duo of Andre and Joao Gomes worked quite well, and all of Wolves’ new signings got to experience the Premier League for the first time.

Pereira’s side also started well and managed to be the first to score, even if it was eventually ruled out for offside. However, the series of play before the offside was well manoeuvred and showed a glimpse of what Wolves could do.

Unfortunately, the quality of Manchester City was too much for the home team to handle, and the game eventually fell away from them.

Nonetheless, there were some positives the manager, players, and fans could take away as they look ahead to Bournemouth on Saturday.
