Wolverhampton Wanderers endured a tough opening game of the season against Pep Guardiola's Manchester City, shipping four goals without being able to provide any sort of response.
The home side did have their chances and certainly would have felt that they deserved to at least find themselves on the scoresheet, but they lacked any sort of cutting edge.
Down the other end of the pitch, their opponents were ruthless with their chances as all four of their shots on target were dispatched into the back of the net.
Here are the Wolves player ratings from this tough match:
Wolves Player Ratings:
José Sá - 4.5
It was a really difficult evening for Wolves' number one, who conceded all four shots that he faced. The 32-year-old will want to forget about this one quickly
Ki-Jana Hoever - 6.5
Wolves fans can at least take some encouragement from the performance of the Dutchman. Looked confident when going forward and delivered some dangerous-looking balls into the box.
Matt Doherty - 5
He was not as involved in the game as he would have hoped to be. Picked up a yellow card as a member of a very disjointed Wolves backline.
Emmanuel Agbadou - 4
A disastrous performance for the Ivorian. He played a big part in City's second goal, giving the ball away. Was caught watching the ball for the opening goal and just looked off pace the entire match.
Toti Gomes - 5
Not directly at fault for any of City's goals but looked disorganised in that backline. His first game as captain of Wolves is certainly one to forget.
David Møller Wolfe - 6
The 23-year-old was certainly not the worst member of the Wolves backline, but he was not involved enough in play. This was especially apparent going forward, where the Norwegian lacked presence.
Andre - 7
A very respectable performance from the Brazilian. Did his duties with confidence and was not afraid to put in challenges when required to.
Joao Gomes - 6.5
The midfield was probably the most efficient part of the Wolves team against City. Gomes also put in a shift and got stuck into play.
Marshall Munetsi - 6.5
He was the best of the Wolves attackers by some distance. Showed plenty of energy on the wing and thought that he had opened the scoring. His downfall was City's high line, which he struggled to put up with.
Jean Ricner-Bellegarde - 5
The 27-year-old lacked threat on the wing. Had a couple of positive moments, but in terms of both finishing and creating, did not do enough on the day.
Jorgen Strand Larsen – 5
Much like Munetsi, Strand Larsen struggled with his opponent's high line. Ultimately, it was not threatening enough despite a couple of bright moments.
Substitutes:
Hugo Bueno - 7
A really positive cameo from the Spaniard, offering more threat in attacking areas - something that Møller Wolfe did not do.
Fer Lopez - 5.5
The new man did not have many opportunities to showcase his ability, but looked bright when he was on the ball.
Jhon Arias - 5.5
A similar situation to Lopez in the sense that he did not have much time on the ball, but looks like an exciting addition to the team
Rodrigo Gomes - 5
Did not have an impact on the game.
