Arsenal are being linked in Brazil with Benedetti, the 19-year-old Palmeiras centre back, with claims Mikel Arteta has approved a move if the numbers make sense.

Reports from São Paulo suggest Arsenal are among a group tracking the defender after his step up from the academy to Abel Ferreira’s senior squad this year.
Journalist Diego Firmino says the club’s interest is known inside Palmeiras. Gustavo Soler adds that an unnamed European side is ready to offer around £8.5m, with bonuses which could take it higher.
Benedetti is currently fifth choice, which fits the profile Arsenal often target at this age, high potential rather than instant starter.
He has 15 senior appearances this season, 1,091 minutes and two goals, and recently signed a new deal to December 2029.
There is no suggestion Arsenal have bid, but the Gunners are being talked up as rumours start to build, helped by the chance to move before the market for him gets too serious.
