Having carried the story on Saturday that there were reports from a journalist concerning the ‘authorities’ and security being called to [West Ham’s](https://www.claretandhugh.info/breaking-report-claims-west-ham-dressing-room-minor-incident-team-coach-leaves-one-behind/) dressing room after the Sunderland loss, it would be remiss not to carry the rebuttal of the same story. Whilst official sources confirmed only how upset the management were after sitting watching the resounding thrashing evolve, from sources close to the club comes a pretty informative update.
After the journalist concerned wrote his article, [ExWHU employee](https://www.thewesthamway.com/2025/08/17/fabricated-exwhuemployee-potter-dressing-room-bust-up-update/) came to the club’s defence with an article denying that such a bust up took place. After a fairly extensive interrogation of sources, _‘Ex_‘ confirmed that:
_“As it stands it seems like the story has been fabricated. “The five different sources who told me it isn’t true include four friends of mine and one source. Two of the friends were in the dressing room, two are close to people in the dressing room and the other is involved in media work._”
However from our own club insider’s comments it is plain that the Hammers’ preseason confidence now looks more like complacency which has been well and truly shattered:” “_I imagine everybody was very p\*\*\*\*d off with each other. We all sat through the second half—it was a very bad performance.”_
The only good thing to come out of this is that there’s still time for the club to change its course in its transfer dealings, with two weeks to make acquisitions. Better to have the crisis now when its impact might -possibly – be positive upon the board and the Chairman who have it in their hands to bring in the midfield players to improve the squad. Clutching at straws? Possibly.
Potter then has to do his part and stop trotting out the same old ‘backward facing’ squads who failed all of last season. Which might be just as hard to accomplish as getting the Chairman to open his cheque book.
