West Ham United are open to allowing Lucas Paqueta to leave the club this summer if they receive an offer of around £60m-£70m, according to GIVEMESPORT sources.
It was a disastrous start to the Premier League season for the Hammers, losing 3-0 away to newly promoted Sunderland. It was a worrying performance from Graham Potter's side, who have been relatively quiet in the summer transfer window so far. Mads Hermansen was brought in from Leicester City, but he played a part in his side conceding three times at the weekend.
Kyle Walker-Peters and Callum Wilson also arrived through the door, but both players were named on the bench in the opening game. El Hadji Malick Diouf also signed on the dotted line, and he started on the left-hand side of defence for the capital club.
West Ham Open to Selling Lucas Paqueta
Lucas Paqueta in action for West Ham United
According to GIVEMESPORT sources, West Ham would be willing to sell Paqueta if the right offer arrives at the club before the end of the summer transfer window. There are suggestions that the Brazilian attacking midfielder is open to leaving the club in the final two weeks of the window, and sources have admitted that it could happen.
It's understood that West Ham are not in a position to block a transfer before the deadline, but it would take a big fee to allow him to head through the exit door. The Hammers could demand in the region of £60m-£70m to sanction a sale for Paqueta, who reportedly earns £130,000-a-week at the London Stadium.
The only players off limits at the moment, beyond the new additions they've brought to the club in the summer transfer window, are Jarrod Bowen and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, so we could see a bit of a shake-up in Potter's squad over the coming weeks.
West Ham will be looking to bounce back on Friday as they face London rivals Chelsea at home. The Hammers then travel to Wolves for the second round of the Carabao Cup, before returning to Premier League action against Nottingham Forest before the end of August.
