Saints tie with the Jaguars in second preseason game, 17-17

NEW ORLEANS, La. (WLBT) - The New Orleans Saints make a 14-point comeback in the second half to tie with the Jacksonville Jaguars in their second preseason game, 17-17.

The two Saints quarterbacks competing for the permanent starting role both had moments on Sunday, but Spencer Rattler shined late, leading the team on a game-tying drive in the fourth quarter.

Rattler led the team on a nine-play, 82 yard drive and capped it off with a 20-yard touchdown pass to Dante Pettis. Rattler also ran the two-point conversion in to tie the score at 17 with 21 seconds left.

Rookie Safety Jonas Sanker nearly ended this game himself on the final play of regulation, picking off Seth Henigan and nearly took it to the house, but he would get tackled out-of-bounds with no time left.

Rattler started the entire second half, finishing 18-of-24 for 199 yards with that game-tying touchdown and an interception.

Rookie Tyler Shough got the start behind center at the beginning of this game. He finished 9-of-12 for 66 yards in the first half as the Saints entered halftime down 17-3.

The Jaguars played their starters on offense and defense while the Saints rested their defensive starters.
