New Orleans had a slow start to their second week of preseason. The second team was facing the Jaguars’ starters and was outclassed. The offense often had to just take what the defense was giving them, while Jacksonville was able to take shots and run the ball effectively.

However, the situation would change in the second half. Spencer Rattler was given the keys to the offense and brought the team to two straight scoring drives. The defense shut out the Jaguars and earned a pair of turnovers. After Rattler threw an interception in the red zone, Kellen Moore would give him one more chance to operate the offense with less than three minutes remaining. The second-year quarterback looked calm and decisive, leading New Orleans to the tie.
