Panthers to sign former Rams quarterback ahead of final preseason game

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - The Carolina Panthers plan to sign former Los Angeles Rams quarterback Bryce Perkins ahead of the team’s preseason finale.

A former UFL MVP, Perkins, 28, spent time with the Rams during the 2020 through 2022 seasons. He appeared in five games with one start.

Backup quarterback Andy Dalton left Saturday’s preseason game against Houston because of a right elbow injury. Jack Plummer finished the rest of the game.

The Panthers needed another quarterback with starters not expected to play Thursday night at Bank of America Stadium against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
