Giants Get Major Props from Ex-Pro Bowler Over Jaxson Dart Pick

After a second preseason matchup, New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart continues to impress the former NFL quarterback, Robert Griffin III.

Following Saturday night's matchup between the Giants and the New York Jets, Griffin took to social media to praise Dart's effort throughout his second NFL showing. It's safe to say the former Washington Commanders star is impressed with the first-round pick.

Griffin then went on to highlight Dart's statistics throughout the first two weeks, while claiming the Giants were spot-on with their second first-round selection of the 2025 NFL Draft.

On Saturday night, Dart threw 16 passes, and only two of his attempts were incomplete. He totaled 137 passing yards, and threw for his second touchdown of the preseason. Dart also collected a touchdown in the rushing game as well. Once again, the rookie put together a highly impressive showing, following his debut.

The Giants dominated the Jets after a week of joint practices. Throughout the week, Dart was reportedly impressive going against competitors who aren't on his team.

When the lights got brighter at MetLife Stadium, Dart once again showed why the Giants traded back into the first round of this year's draft to select Dart. He was a big reason why the Giants were able to dominate the Jets 31-12 to move to 2-0 in the preseason.

The Giants have one more preseason matchup on the schedule. On Thursday, Dart and the Giants will host the New England Patriots. It could be the final time Giants fans see Dart for a while.

Despite the rookie's impressive preseason, the Giants are sticking to the plan to have Russell Wilson start. On Saturday night, Giants head coach Brian Daboll made it clear that Dart's preseason performance won't change the plan.

"Russ is our starter, and we're going to keep developing Jaxson," Daboll told reporters on Saturday.

The support for Dart continues to grow as the summer fades away, and Griffin has taken stock in Dart's future with the Giants. However, the noise hasn't changed anything. Dart will begin the 2025 NFL season as Russell Wilson's backup.
