Como have been linked with Pena for a while now and the latest update suggests the transfer could be completed in a matter of days.
According to Football Italia, Como are ready to ramp up negotiations and could have everything finalised by Wednesday.
Fabregas is a big fan of Pena and the plan is to sign him on a season-long loan with a purchase option.
If Pena does move then he will join former Barcelona team-mates Sergi Roberto and Alex Valle at the Italian club.
Pena has been deemed surplus to requirements following the arrival of Joan Garcia and with Wojciech Szczęsny having signed a two-year deal.
