PSG have been active in strengthening their squad for the 2025-26 season. But the Paris club alsoneed to offload players to balance their finances, and one defender is reportedly set to leave for the Premier League.
Last season, Nordi Mukiele was sent on loan to Bayer Leverkusen, giving him the chance to boost his profile and either stay in Germany long-term or attract interest for the summer transfer market.
On Friday,Sky Sports reported that Sunderlandhave agreed a £9.5 million fee, plus £2.5 million in add-ons, to sign Mukiele from PSG. The move allows the defender to close his chapter in Paris after a loan spell that didn’t go as planned.

Mukiele spoke with Sunderland’s website once his move to the Black Cats became official. He explained his decision to join the Premier League club when it became evident that his time at PSG was coming to an end.
“I know the story of Sunderlandso it didn’t take long tomake a decision,” Mukiele said. “It was a bit fast, but I love footballwhich means I love challenges. I will just try to give everythingfor this club. I will do that from the first day…
“I talked to him and he explainedto me about the challenge and why he chose to come here. When a player like Granit speaks, youhave to listen to him with both ears!
“This is one of the reasons why I couldreally understand this project. It was a long conversationbut a good one, because it meant I made the decisionreally quickly. I felt something in my body that said just to go. Don’t look back. This is what I did.”
