Manchester United’s fastest player on the pitch vs Arsenal

Data from Manchester United’s opening day clash with Arsenal shows the team’s fastest players.

Manchester United fell to a 1-0 defeat at home to Arsenal. It was a performance that had everything from an attacking sense – aside from a goal.

United rattled the post with an effort from Patrick Dorgu in the first half, and the Denmark international was a livewire throughout the game.

Newly available data from FotMob reveals Patrick Dorgu to be Manchester United’s fastest player during the game.

Speed and directness crucial to revamping Manchester United

Manchester United’s performances in the 2024-25 season were disappointing, and new head coach Ruben Amorim was at times left exasperated.

Amorim knew he had to add strength to the team, players who were capable of competing physically, and he has certainly done so.

Cunha, Mbeumo and Dorgu are all new additions to the squad in 2025, and they were all excellent against Arsenal, putting in individual performances that should have brought a win.

United attempted 22 shots at goal, with seven on target, and were beaten with Arsenal scoring a goal from a corner.

Amorim spoke after the game: “It was a very good performance. I’m really proud of the players but, in the end, we lost the game. But again, for me, you can win and you can lose in the end, but I am proud of what they did, my players.

“It’s a good feeling. At the same time, it’s really hard to lose a game like this.”
