A staunch Manchester United fan, Eric had confidently declared on social media that the Red Devils would dominate their first match.

In a bold move, he even called out celebrity Arsenal supporters, including Useful Idioty, Joe Muchiri, and Carol Radul, promising cash rewards depending on the match outcome.

“I know this is a walkover game. Hii ni game imeisha before ianze. As Eric Omondi, the president of comedy in Africa, I want to offer each Manchester United player KSh 5 million if they win the game, even the bench. People like Carol Radul, Useful Idioty, and Joe Muchiri—if Arsenal beat Manchester United, you can be sure that I will give you KSh 400,000 each, and you know I keep my word,” he declared.

However, the game did not go as planned as Manchester United fell short after Ricardo Caglafiori scored the only goal in the 13th minute following a goalkeeper blunder.
Despite dominating the match, the Red Devils were unlucky, seeing penalty appeals turned down and a shot hitting the woodwork.
Following the loss, the celebrity fans Eric had mentioned quickly called him out on social media, demanding he honour his promise.
Joe Muchiri was the first to react, reposting Eric’s original video with the caption:
“Kuna deni hapa Erico” (Eric, you have a debt here).
Carol Radul also commented on Eric’s silence after the match, while Useful Idioty went a step further by posting a video showing him calling Eric, who did not answer.
