Fabrizio Romano: Man Utd 'want to sell star as soon as possible' after what happened on Sunday

Manchester United want to sell Rasmus Hojlund ‘as soon as possible’ after he was left out of the squad to face Arsenal on Sunday, GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

The Old Trafford side reportedly are trying to secure an exit for the Danish international before the transfer deadline and are open to either a permanent departure or a loan with an option to buy.

Romano claims United are seeking a €6m loan fee for Hojlund, plus an option to buy worth around €40m to €45m, with AC Milan among the European clubs keen on the striker.

Hojlund faces a tough battle for minutes under Ruben Amorim following Benjamin Sesko’s arrival, with the Slovenian striker replacing the Dane in the squad for the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal at the weekend.

Sesko came off the bench for his Man United debut in the second half, replacing Mason Mount, who had started the contest up front.

Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, has suggested that Man United are trying to sell Hojlund before the deadline, with negotiations expected to follow amid interest from clubs across Europe:

“Rasmus Hojlund [was] out of the squad and we know that Manchester United are trying to find a solution for him.

“They want Hojlund to go. They want to sell Hojlund as soon as possible. If a sale is not going to be possible, they want to do a loan with an option to buy – 6 million euro loan fee, an option to buy around 40-45.

“So negotiations will now follow for Rasmus Hojlund, with interest from AC Milan and more clubs around Europe, not only Milan.”
