Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas’ exit could accelerate in the coming days, GIVEMESPORT senior reporter Fabrizio Romano has revealed.
The reigning Premier League champions are looking to part ways with the Greece international before the transfer deadline and are considering several potential solutions for his exit.
While Tsimikas’ permanent departure was initially suggested, Liverpool are also open to loan proposals, with the 29-year-old prepared to depart after spending five years at Anfield.
Tsimikas faces a tough battle for minutes in Arne Slot’s squad this season, with both Andy Robertson and new signing Milos Kerkez ahead of him in the pecking order.
The 29-year-old was left out of the squad for Liverpool’s 4-2 win over Bournemouth on Sunday, with both Kerkez and Robertson handed minutes by Slot.

Romano, writing on X, has revealed that Tsimikas is prepared to depart Liverpool before the transfer deadline, with the Reds potentially open to both permanent and loan deals.
Tsimikas, who joined Liverpool from Olympiacos in 2020, struggled for regular minutes last season, making 29 appearances across all competitions, 18 of which were starts.
The Greece international has made a total of 115 appearances for Liverpool since joining but was never able to usurp Robertson as first choice.
Liverpool are still looking to strengthen their defensive options before the transfer deadline and appear well-placed to secure a deal for Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi.
According to reports, the Reds have held initial talks regarding the 24-year-old defender and are aiming to strike a cut-price deal, with Guehi in the final year of his contract at Selhurst Park.
Palace are believed to be seeking alternatives in case Guehi departs, although there remains a possibility he will stay and see out the final 12 months of his contract before leaving as a free agent in 2026.
Liverpool have already spent more than £300m on new signings this summer, with Florian Wirtz joining in a club-record £116m deal from Bayer Leverkusen.
