Jack Grealish is hoping to revive his career at Everton following his loan move from Manchester City.

Grealish has had contrasting fortunes during his career. After enjoying his football at Villa Park, he never quite got going under Pep Guardiola, and David Moyes will be hoping he can change that.

Grealish arrives at Everton with a point to prove, and given the lack of consistent activity so far this summer, he has the ideal opportunity to do just that in a depleted side.

Danny Murphy believes Grealish’s Everton move is ‘perfect’

The loan move for Grealish is a big risk for both parties.

Everton will be covering a large share of Grealish’s £300,000-a-week wage and could end up paying a £50million buy option should he do well.

Grealish is putting his career at risk of a nosedive should he struggle with the Blues.

However, former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy thinks the move will work out.

Grealish has 39 England caps

The winger has five World Cup appearances and one goal, all of which came at Qatar 2022

He has played 31 games in competitive competitions with England

Speaking on Match Of The Day 2 on 17 August, he said: “Moyesy brought players like [Mohammed] Kudus into West Ham, who is a flair player, and he did wonders with Lingard when he took him on loan to West Ham, so there’s no reason why it can’t work.

“I think a lot of it’s going to be down to Jack’s hunger and desire, which seems to be there; he wants to be in the World Cup squad. I’m excited for him. I think it could be a really good move.”

Grealish’s form on Merseyside will have huge implications for whether he returns to the England side under Thomas Tuchel, having missed the last few friendlies.

Moyes will be hoping that he will see a revival of the Aston Villa version of Grealish, and within a side that plays with more creativity than Man City, it will be the ideal opportunity to see that.

The winger’s vast experience in competitions with England and European competition with Man City could help set the Toffees apart this season.

When can Everton fans see Grealish in a Blue shirt

Grealish isn’t expected to start against Leeds in Moyes’ Premier League opener this season.

The England international could be brought off the bench against the Peacocks, but his first start is likely to come against Brighton on 24 August.

Given the Blues’ lack of depth, especially in midfield, Grealish could be utilised by Moyes sooner rather than later.
