AC Milan name their price for Leeds United transfer target Noah Okafor - journalist

Leeds United’s pursuit of AC Milan forward Noah Okafor continues to accelerate following further developments over the weekend.

Leeds United News revealed the first signs of Leeds United’s Okafor interest. It was then stated by Beren Cross that Leeds were showing serious interest in Milan’s Okafor.

It’s also been made clear that Milan are open to selling Okafor this summer after a stint on loan with Napoli to end the 2024/25 campaign.

Prior to joining Milan, Okafor was a Red Bull Salzburg player for Jesse Marsch. The Swiss international was predominantly utilised as a striker for the Austrian side, but has since been more of a wide forward by operating off the left flank.

His versatility could be useful for Leeds, with Okafor providing depth and cover in two positions. He is also another player who stands at over 6’0″ tall, too.

Okafor could be one of four final Leeds signings. However, Leeds may not be able to land Okafor as it will take a bid over £13 million, per some reports.

They have already overcome one significant hurdle, though, with Okafor agreeing personal terms with Leeds over the weekend. There has since been another potentially more significant update since.

Okafor is a 25-year-old with top flight experience but a fee could exceed well beyond £13 million, in spite of some of the injury issues Okafor has suffered in recent seasons.

Italian journalist Orazio Accomando claims there has been contact between Milan and Leeds for Okafor. However, he states that there is a wide gap on the valuation figures currently.

He adds that, after pre-season, the Rossoneri value the forward between €15-20 million (£13 million-£17.3 million. There will be no loan and only a permanent transfer is possible.

Okafor has the ability to be a makeshift number-nine but is best as a left-sided winger. There he is able to get between the lines and he looks to take snapshots at goal with regularity.

Rafael Leao injury could impact Okafor deal

Okafor’s exit could be contingent on Milan, especially with Rafael Leao leaving the pitch last night with an injury after 17 minutes.

Per journalist Jose Rodriguez, this all comes just six days before the start of Serie A. He adds that we’ll see if this affects Okafor’s possible departure to Leeds.

The Whites have to sign a wide forward to bolster their ranks yet, which is why the latest news regarding an injury and a lofty valuation could be a problem as talks continue over the coming days.
