The left-back has slipped down the pecking order under manager Arne Slot. With Andy Robertson still trusted and summer signing Milos Kerkez already starting games, Tsimikas finds himself without a clear path into the starting lineup.
He was even left out of the squad for the 4-2 win over Bournemouth, a sign that his future may lie away from Merseyside.
Tsimikas has made 115 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions, but was never able to replace Robertson as the first choice. At 29, he now looks ready to move on in search of more consistent playing time.
