It's been a busy summer already and what has felt like a long wait since securing a top flight return with the Championship title, but finally Leeds United return to the Premier League this evening. The Whites face Everton in the final match of the opening round of fixtures, which started on Friday night with Liverpool against Bournemouth.
Tonight it's the turn of the blue half of Merseyside to visit Elland Road as Daniel Farkes men begin their campaign with a clash against David Moyes' team. Everton have a new stadium to look forward to playing in this season, but it'll have to go some to beat the atmosphere we're expecting at Elland Road this campaign, beginning tonight.
Leeds look set to give a competitive debut to a host of new arrivals, but there will also be a familiar feeling to Farke's squad for this game. As is so often the case at this stage of the season, injuries are not an issue, save for Jayden Bogle, and the tough decision is who to leave out after the pre-season games gave some indication of where the team are at.
Farke is expected to hand three debuts. Lucas Perri is expected to start in goal, Gabriel Gudmundsson looks a certainty for the left-back role this season and Anton Stach is likely to play in central midfielder, but there are some questions as to which way Farke will go with other new arrivals.
Leeds United squad: Lucas Perri, Karl Darlow, Isaac Schmidt, Joe Rodon, Pascal Struijk, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Jayden Bogle, Sean Longstaff, AO Tanaka, Ethan Ampadu, Dan James, Anton Stach, Brendan Aaronson, Joel Piroe, Willy Gnonto, Lukas Nmecha, Largie Ramazani, Sam Byram, Jack Harrison, Ilia Gruev.
