Jacob Ramsey is officially a Newcastle United player, and is a man with lofty ambitions.
It was confirmed on Sunday that Newcastle have signed Ramsey, as he becomes the fourth senior player to arrive at St James’ Park this summer.
Eddie Howe is delighted to sign Ramsey, with his midfield suddenly much stronger thanks to the 24-year-old’s presence.
Ramsey is a player with a lot of potential, but his career has slightly stalled over the past couple of years. Injuries have held him back, but he is still someone who has a very high ceiling.
He is aiming to get back on track, and believes Eddie Howe has the tools to help him to do just that.

Jacob Ramsey picks out two Newcastle United stars as he eyes England debut
Ramsey is desperate to continue improving as a player, and is well aware that Howe can make that happen.
He has spoken about the Newcastle United manager during his first official interview, picking out Anthony Gordon and Lewis Hall as two players who have gotten so much better under Howe.
“I’m not an England international at the moment,” he said.

“But if you look at the squad, when players have joined the club they were not England internationals. The manager made them into much better players and they’ve gone on to play for their countries. That’s the main thing.
“How they develop players. Look at Anthony Gordon and Lewis Hall over the past two seasons. They’ve made massive progress.”
Jacob Ramsey doubles down on England goal at Newcastle United
Ramsey is very eager to play for the England senior team. That is a goal he believes he can achieve as a Newcastle United player.
Having already expressed his international ambitions, Newcastle’s new number 41 doubled down on his desire to represent his country.
“In recent years and probably last year I was close to making the England senior setup,” he added.
“As a young English boy, playing in the youth ranks for England, the main goal is to play for the seniors.
“That’s one of the reasons why I’ve come here to try to get into the senior squad.”
Ramsey has played for England plenty of times at youth level. He has represented the Under-18s, Under-19s, Under-20s and Under-21s, but never the senior side.
He is hoping to change that at St James’ Park, and has plenty of motivation to achieve that goal. So many players have made their England debuts since joining Howe’s Newcastle United. As well as Gordon and Hall, Tino Livramento and Dan Burn have also become full England internationals since playing under Howe on Tyneside.
Ramsey is extremely eager to join that list, as he gets set to embark on the next chapter of his career.
