Leeds United open their Premier League campaign against Everton at Elland Road this evening (8pm).
The match will mark the Whites' return to the top-flight after their remarkable Championship campaign last season. To secure their status in the top division, Leeds have been busy behind the scenes - completing several deals so far this summer.
With the transfer window closing in just two weeks, more additions could still be on the way. That said, Leeds Live has taken a look at the latest headlines;
Striker 'agreement' in place
August 17, 2025 " rel="nofollow" target="_self">Journalist Ben Jacobs understands that Leeds have been in talks with AC Milan since last week over striker Noah Okafor. With time running out before the window slams shut on September 1, talks are expected to continue this week.
Meanwhile, August 17, 2025 " rel="nofollow" target="_self">La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Luca Bianchin claims an 'agreement' on contract terms has already been reached between Leeds and Okafor.
Bologna previously tried to secure a deal, by presenting an initial loan proposal with an option to buy, for a total package of €15-16 million (£13-14m) However, this was turned down by Milan, according to Calcio Mercato.
Previously asked about his preferred position, Okafor said: "I can play as a winger, both on the right and left, and as a central striker. I have played both next to a single striker and with two strikers. Based on my characteristics, the position I prefer is that of left winger, because there I can use all my qualities and make the difference. I can express myself better in one-on-one situations, attacking the depth, cutting and trying to score."
Leeds Live says: This would be a major boost for Daniel Farke's squad - to provide competition for new signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Okafor, brings a dynamic blend of pace, technical skill, and versatility in attack, capable of playing both as a central striker and in wider positions. His experience in top European competitions and at the international level with Switzerland could be key in helping Leeds maintain their Premier League status, bringing valuable quality and maturity to the squad.
Whites receive Demirovic 'stance'
Leeds have been handed Ermedin Demirovic's transfer stance - as reports argue that they are 'reconsidering' their position on the striker. Inside Futbol have reported that Leeds are weighing up a swoop for the forward, who cost the German side €23m (£20m) when he joined from Augsburg last summer.
However, earlier this summer, Demirovic made it clear that he intended to stay at Stuttgart - and establish himself at the club. Dismissing transfer speculation, he said - during a pre-season training camp: "I want to establish myself here."
Leeds Live says: Although this may seem like a setback to some, the fact that Okafor, if reports are accurate, has already agreed to personal terms on a move to Elland Road more than makes up for it. At 27, Demirovic is a couple of years older than Okafor, who brings not only youth but also versatility and significant experience at both club and international level.
While Demirovic may offer a more physically established profile, Okafor's pace and long-term potential arguably make him a more exciting prospect for Leeds as they build for the future. In that context, missing out on Demirovic might not be a major blow - especially if it clears the way for a dynamic signing such as Okafor.
